Ghulam Abbas Farzami a talented documentary filmmaker was
born in 1994 Kabul City, where he pursued his education at the Mahmood Tarzie
High School. During his education, Ghulam Abbas was granted a one-month English
language and leadership, fellowship (YSEL) to India
by American Councils for International Education in 2012.
After successfully completing the YSEL program, he
worked as volunteer with different organizations. In early 2013, based on his
creativity, interest and volunteer work, he was selected as trainee at Afghan
Voices. Afghan Voice was a 6 months long documentary making training, where he
made different documentary portraying Afghan’s life. “Highway Football” was one
of Abbas’s documentaries that was nominated at the ELBU film festival in Italy.
Currently, he is working as a photojournalist and
assistant production at Rumi Consultancy and ANGO (Afghanistan New Generation
Organization). His ambition is to become the world’s well-known filmmaker who
could bring positive changes in his society.
